A final two block stroll, brings you to the AUDUBON HOUSE, filled with usual European furnishings from shipwrecks and original Birds of America engravings surrounded by an acre of tropical Key West Gardens.

The Excursion ends here, across the street from your pier, and in the midst of shops and further attractions. The Shady areas of seating will appeal to those who wish to rest before taking on further explorations of Old Town Key West.

A one block walk past distinguished Victorian homes brings you to the CURRY MANSION.

The house was named for William Curry, a penniless Bahamian immigrant who made his fortune reputedly as a salvager -those scurrilous fellow who preyed on shipwrecked travelers in Florida's pirate-infested waters. Curry attained status as Key West's first millionaire and began building the Mansion in 1855. Curry's son Milton completed the Mansion in 1899, furnishing it with the 18th-century antiques and Victorian pieces gracing the parlor today.

The OLDEST HOUSE, home of Captain Francis Watlington, incorporates the influences of colonial architecture found in the Caribbean and New England.

The building is now operated by Old Island Restoration Foundation as a nonprofit museum featuring many original furnishings, ship models, maritime artifacts, documents relating to the activities of wreckers, and items recovered from Keys waters.

Tea is served in the spacious rear garden.
